There are even old travelers’ tales claiming Moon Cakes were carried along the roads of the Elderlands because their almond-rich sweetness kept well on long journeys.

Of course, there is another possibility: somewhere in the distant past, an enterprising elven baker discovered that cakes marked with little crescents were particularly pretty, and everyone else supplied the legends afterward.
